Our Staff

Boise Cooperative Preschool is extremely proud of our outstanding and dedicated teaching staff, many of whom were once themselves, parents of BCP students. Our staff meets all state requirements for their positions and every teacher has had many years of experience working with children.  As a cooperative preschool, our student’s learning environment is also enriched by the loving involvement of parent volunteers in the classroom.  You can learn a bit about our staff below, but more importantly, please come and visit so that we can meet you in person.

Tara has been a part of BCP both as a parent and a teacher starting in 2005. She taught both the 3/4 and 4/5 classes for 12 years before taking a short leave of absence. She has over 17 years teaching experience in early childhood education and child development. Tara’s teaching experiences include both preschool and kindergarten. She graduated from Boise State University with an Associate Degree in Childcare and Development and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Child Development/Early Childhood Education. She looks forward to being your child’s teacher.

Lisa has lived in the Treasure Valley since 1995 and attended Boise State University.  She currently lives in Boise with her husband and two daughters.  She is a BCP alumni parent and watched her own children make leaps and bounds in their social, emotional, and intellectual growth during their years at Boise Cooperative Preschool.  Her own wonderful experience as a parent in our play-based learning environment inspired her to return to BCP as a teacher.  Ms. Lisa is passionate about science! She volunteers with the National Weather Service and the Community Collaborative Rain Hail and Snow Network (CoCoRaHS) as a citizen meteorologist.  Ms. Lisa believes that even the youngest members of our community can be “citizen scientists” and make important scientific contributions that help others.  She enjoys working with preschool-aged children because they are experts at whatever subject or hobby they are interested in and their enthusiasm is contagious!  She loves having the opportunity to help her students take their interests and acquire deeper knowledge through active exploration.

Korey is originally from Coeur d’Alene but has called Boise home for the past 21 years.  She and her husband, Eric, enjoy spending time with their 18-year-old daughter, Hadley, and 11-year-old son, Keaten.  They keep Korey very busy with all of their extracurricular activities.  Swimming pools, softball, and baseball fields are their second homes!  Both of Ms. Korey’s children spent their preschool years at this wonderful school and she is so happy to be in her third year at BCP.  Ms. Korey has a BA in Multidisciplinary Studies with Leadership and Human Relations Certificate from Boise State University.  She absolutely enjoys the community atmosphere at BCP and helping students grow. BCP’s play-based structure helps to ensure that students are ready to be independent, courteous, and kind citizens in their future adventures.

Sarah was raised in California and has lived in Boise for the past 14 years.  She started teaching preschool in her home and did so for almost 15 years and loved watching young minds as they soak up knowledge.  She and her husband, Matthew, have 8 children ranging in age from 21 - 5 years of age.  Her youngest daughter was a student at BCP and served as the board president. Sarah graduated with a degree in English Secondary Education from BYU in Provo.

Angie Day-Director

Ms. Angie is originally from Idaho, having grown up in Pocatello.  She enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, both alumnae of BCP.  While a parent at BCP, Angie was a part of the fundraising committee, Vice President, and served two years as a the Board President.  She loves the challenge that is the first director of BCP and all that it has brought.  Angie received a degree in Secondary Education from Idaho State University and is pursuing a Master's in Educational Technology from Boise State University. As a certified teacher, her content areas are Family and Consumer Sciences, Social Studies, and German, along with an Advanced Occupational Specialist endorsement in Child Development.   Angie works part-time with the Boise School District, as well.  She loves the opportunity to work with BCP again in this capacity and help to support the teachers and parents in their journey.
